Once highest, still alone

La Tour de la Bourse (translate Stock Exchange Tower) is Montréal's third-tallest building, 623 feet tall (47-story). Built in 1964, it's been the world's tallest reinforced concrete tower until 1968, with completion of Lake Point Tower in Chicago.

It is located near Square Victoria, and is connected by the underground city to the subway station. The original project, conceived during the Expo'67, planned for three identical towers disposed in a triangle.

On February 13, 1969 the terrorist Front de Libération du Québec(often called the FLQ) set off a powerful bomb in the building, seriously injuring twenty-seven people.
